The Green Dress

This painting is inspired by one that hung in my grandmother’s home. I remember sitting in her living room, always drawn to that dancer in the green, flowy dress. She seemed so free, so elegant—like she could twirl right out of the frame and into the room. As a child, I didn’t just admire her—I wanted to be her. There was something about her grace, her strength, that felt like it was everything I wasn’t. The painting became a kind of daydream for me, a vision of the woman I imagined myself growing into one day.
