This metal sculpture is a modern reinterpretation of the traditional Andean Quipu, an ancient system of record-keeping using knotted threads. Instead of thread, I used wires, chains, and beads to create a tactile, industrial version of the Quipu. Each section of the sculpture represents the colors of a Latin American country's flag, arranged in order, symbolizing the interconnectedness of the region’s diverse cultures. The vibrant, multi-colored elements reflect a rich cultural tapestry, with each link in the piece serving as a tribute to unity and shared heritage across Latin America.
